If I don't end up sleeping on a mat on the floor in the lobby tonight, I'll be surprised.
People have seen mice in the lobby at night; I hope they don't scamper on me while I'm trying to sleep.
In the morning, everyone who had to sleep in the lobby last night will be awakened between 4:15 and 4:30 a.m. Last night, the time for when the lobby closes was permanently changed from 10:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., so the people who have to sleep in the lobby won't be forced
to stay awake until 10:00 p.m., to get 6 hours of sleep at the most. That's good; however, 9:00 p.m. is an awfully early bedtime for grown women who also have to be at the Pine Street Inn by 3:00 p.m. every afternoon to do the bed lottery.
I'm scheduled to work tomorrow, and have to be at the Labor Ready in Quincy by 6:15 a.m. I don't know if I'll stumble out to the garden at 4:30 to try to get another half-hour of sleep on the wire or concrete benches before going to work. I have done that in the past when I had to sleep in the lobby, taking care not to look like rat food for the several rats that either live in or frequent the garden, which I have seen.
