A few years ago, I started enclosing things that I wanted to be sure were understood to be sarcastic in "Sarcasm Alert" at the beginning and "End of Sarcasm Alert" at the end.
It is always depressing to realize not only that my rationale for creating the Sarcasm Alert paraphernalia was sound, but that it seems that it will never be obsolete.
