Better than the hospital

February 21, 2015

As bad as much of my treatment at the crisis unit at Quincy Mental Health Center has been, it has been a lot better than the way I was treated at any of the mental hospitals and other psychiatric units where I have been a patient since 2010.  Probably, that has something to do with it being a unit that patients can leave during the day if they want to, so it's more difficult even for staff who like power trips to make themselves believe that I am incompetent.  They believe that anyway, of course, whenever they most want to excuse themselves for treating me badly in other ways.

There's also my being able to publicly document what happens here when it happens; mental hospitals and most psychiatric units don't let patients have their cell phones while they are patients.

I won't have to accept team treatment services unless something happens to stop me from getting an SRO in the next few weeks.  That decision was made this week, during a meeting that I was asked to attend.  I probably would not have gotten that result from the meeting if I hadn't called someone who works for the Department of Mental Health, but who doesn't work at this building, and asked for her help with the situation.

The DMH site director of this facility is not a nice woman.
