It's a strange feeling, though, not to look like the person that you have known yourself to be since you started to look like an adult.
I felt more grief about aging when it was beginning than I do now, several years after it began.
Truthfully, the taunting about my age and its physical changes doesn't shame me at all; it is exasparating. In addition to being the pastime of frivolous people, it's yet another way that society tries to disempower women. If you're not being called a beautiful, stupid vixen, you're being called an ugly, old lech. Kitten or cougar; those should not be the designated life stages of women.
