Support for abusers and destruction of women's rights

November 2, 2014

These ads are all over this train.

It's support for my being abused by a security guard when I was trying to get to my appointment at Impact months ago.  Impact is an agency that helps homeless people get employment.  I objected to the security guard's sexual harassment of me at the front desk in the lobby of the building, and he succeeded in getting me banned from the building, even though all I had done was take a picture of him with my phone when he had replied "I'll do whatever I want"  to my telling him to stop harassing me.  He also threatened to knock the phone out of my hand; he said that literally.  He was the aggressor the entire time, and I was banned from the building because of whatever it was he then told his manager after I left.  I never met his manager and was never asked for my side of the story, nor was my story given any support when I called the Impact office.  As far as I know, I am still banned from the entire building.  I wrote about it when it happened, and support for that abuse of me has cropped up every so often, ever since.

That building also has the HomeStart office in it, which means that I had a strike against me with HomeStart before I even started working with HomeStart to try to find housing.  What is a HomeStart advocate supposed to say about me to a prospective landlord, "She's banned from the building that has our office?"

Impact is also part of the Pine Street Inn organization, although it is not in the same building and is a 15-20 minute walk from the shelter.

My entire life is dangerously and chronically impacted by the aggressive, dishonest behavior of one security guard in a situation that happened several months ago.  He has probably abused a lot of other women who have tried to access services in that building, also; they have to let him sexually harass them whenever they leave or enter the building, or they'll lose access to the services that they're trying to utilize to improve their lives.

Whether all women realize it or not, all women are losing rights because of the conglomerate.
