"It's just part of his illness; he likes to open people's windows."

December 15, 2014

That's what I was told when I spoke to the night shift nurse about the incident that happened earlier.

She also said "That might be difficult for you to accept."

I told her that her response was unacceptable, and she didn't like that.  I tried to end the conversation before it turned into an argument, which she also didn't like and wouldn't allow.  She told me I could leave if I wanted.  She told me I'd never be invited into the office again while she's working.  She said "Maybe you can pull that with other people but not with me."  She was obviously enjoying the "tough nurse deals with bad patient" role that she had written for herself, as ludicrous as it was.

The next thing that happened when the conversation was over was that I went into the hallway that has the restrooms, and the patient whose "illness" causes him to open other people's windows was outside the women's restroom in the dark.

The nurse from the evening shift, who didn't stop the harassment and tried to minimize that my window got opened was wearing pink pants and a shirt with grey and white, horizontal stripes.
