The nurse manager of the unit has to be in her 60's and seems to be a conservative person. I think that the world as she thinks of it is a place where men maybe sometimes do things that they shouldn't but women have to realize that's just the way men are and learn to live with it. I think her attitude and belief system probably have a lot to do with why my attempts to get help from staff when I get harassed at this unit have been met with denial and vicious repression.
The nurse manager probably thinks of me as being hypersensitive rather than self-respecting. If that's how she thinks of me, she is probably helped in her opinion by the stereotype of all mental patients as being people who can't deal with the stresses of normal life.
I think that the nurse manager probably has seniority at this unit and that she has substantially influenced the assistant director for a long time. The assistant director is probably in her early thirties or younger.
Workplace politics are not functioning in favor of gender equality at this unit.
