Abuse at the crisis stabilization unit

September 26, 2014

Last night, a male patient was coughing in the hallway outside my room.

A janitor, after running up to mop outside the women's restroom when I was in that restroom, has left 2 Wet Floor signs near each other in the lobby.

I just walked into the crisis unit from the hallway; an older, female staffperson was standing near the door, talking to the manager of the unit.  When the staffperson saw me, she conspicuously wiped her nose with her finger and then gave a huge grin.  She obviously thinks that my purpose for being at this unit is for her to amuse herself by sexually harassing me.

A male patient sitting next to me has coughed at me a few times.

The janitor is changing the trash bags, which have been overflowing since yesterday afternoon.

When the staffperson wiped her nose at me, I said "You work here?"  She said "Yes."  I walked away, sat down, and started writing.  The manager, who witnessed all of this, just called me into her office to have a check-in.  The first thing she said was "Are you ok?  You seem on edge.  Are you overwhelmed?"

A male patient just walked past and coughed at me.

The news is showing a story about "Lady Lions."  There was an ad several minutes ago about "Go-getters who get things done."  There was a news story about women who have "a Plan B man."
