A group of people who have deliberately, enthusiastically destroyed someone's life, and who continue, with full knowledge of the effects of their actions, to do things that make the person live in danger and in constant and hopeless pain, cannot reasonably expect their victim to have infinite quantities of empathy, sensitivity and unerring judgment, particularly toward members of the persecuting group.
You don't have to be a saint to know that the conglomerate is bad.
